My beloved family in Christ may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God the Father and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.
Who could ever have imagined a few months ago that we would not be able to be with each other as in the past few Sundays and during the Holy Week of Lent. But at least we are able to stream the services to you. I hope all of you are finding some time each day to read some scripture and for prayer. Let's all of us add each other and those we love to our prayers. What I miss most of all is to not be with all of you on the Lord's day; to rejoice with you in fellowship with one another, and to commune with our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. This "plague" and change of habits has taught me just how important our church family is to me. I knew it before, but not as I do now. I hope that no one of you is feeling isolated. My phone is always there for you if you need to talk. Please tune into Mark's study on the book of Acts and the Great Lent. It can be found on the Zoom app. Also Patrick Harry has a series worth watching on YouTube. It is called "The Church of the Eternal Logos." Just do a search and type that into the search box. During this crisis let us remind ourselves as St. John did his readers, "That He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world," (I John 4:4) and though St. John the Theologian was speaking of the Antichrist I think I might include as well this virus that is upsetting the world. May the Lord have mercy upon all of us and keep us in His grace.
Pray for me.
Love in Christ,
Fr. Athanasis
