The One Gospel

Galatians 1:11-19.

Saint Paul writes of his Gospel being not of men, but of God. St. Paul is defending his Apostleship from false brethren who taught that Paul's Gospel was
not the true Gospel. His Gospel, in other words, was his own invention. The true gospel, according to these false brethren, included observance of the Law which meant that converts needed to be circumcised to be sons of Abraham (Jews) In other words Christ came to save the Jews and not the whole world. Such a teaching would restrict the Gospel to a select group of men rather than for all.

It is clear that Christ died for all mankind, and not just the Jews. It is clear that he took upon him the sins of the whole world, not just the Jews. Paul defended the Gospel he had received vigorously. He clearly stated that the Gospel he preached to the Galatians was not from man, nor was it taught him by man, but that Jesus Christ revealed it to him. Christ came to save the whole world, not just the Jews.

And the Orthodox have preached and proclaimed this Gospel as The Gospel against all other gospels from the time of the Apostles.
